Desserts are great if you calm down, hold back on the sugars. Agave in place of soda and sugars for some individual taste's. I have Blood sugar problems and life can be a balancing act in cooking. I change the sugar for my weight issues. Vegetarian foods and, I don't use Ice Cream's much at all.
Apple Dumplings

Ingredients (I half the recipe for singles/one i.e.)
- 2 whole Granny Smith Apples
- 2 cans (8 Oz. Cans) Crescent Rolls (more: http://www.buzzfeed.com/christinebyrne/crescent-roll-me-away#.sjmNLK6E9j)
- 2 sticks Butter
- 1-1/2 cup Sugar (1/2 cup Stevia_ Pure) Don't use Trivia
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- Cinnamon, To Taste or, apple pie spice
- 1 can (12 Oz.) Mountain Dew Soda or, use Stevia Mt.Dew soda (HFS)
Preparation
Peel and core apples. Cut each apple into 8 slices each. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll. Place in a 9 x 13 buttered pan.Melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir. Add vanilla, stir, and pour entire mixture over apples. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with whip cream (diabetic or watch weight) ice cream, and spoon some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top. If using Ice Cream add lesser sugar.
