An old Pioneer's Beet Liver Cleanse found in one of their old books.
Old Pioneer Beet Liver Cleanse
12 Medium sized beets
4 pound of sugar
3 lemons (also a cleansing fruit, bring the body's Ph back to normal. (Flue, colds etc.)
1 slice of bread
1 cake of yeast
Wash beets, cut up fine peelings and all. Boil in one-gallon water until tender, drain water, add sugar to water, let come to boil. Put in large jar. Add 3 lemons cut up. Toast bread, then spread yeast on bread. (If not using “cake” yeast skip this part of recipe) Cut in squares and put in wine. Let stand 10 days to two weeks till it stops bubbling. Bottle after removing bread and lemons. (Or just remove lemons if used regular yeast) Use jugs too and check it once in a while. Keep in a cool place. Take by teaspoonful or tablespoon three times a day to clean liver of toxins. This is especially good to store for winter when beets are not available. This is an very old old recipe that I didn't want to disappear. Remember this is a tincture and only to be used by teaspoon for dosage. Great in flues or for any blood cleanser, especially in the spring. Let food be your medicine.
